Veda reveals best and worst credit risk regions in Australia
This week Veda released the second annual Veda Australian Credit Scorecard, offering market-leading insights into credit habits and Equifax Scores. It combines an analysis of 955,000 Equifax Scores with consumer research of 1,000 Australians.
The research found that on the whole Australian’s have very good Equifax Scores with an average score of 760 however there are areas of the country where there are pockets of people who are under financial pressure and struggling with meeting their credit repayments.
Two of the worst regions in the country were in Queensland whilst suburbs in Sydney and Melbourne made up the bulk of the top 10 best Equifax Score regions. The make-up of the top 10 worst regions remained the same as 2013 however Moreton Bay – North in Queensland jumped to the 4th worst region. In the best regions there were new entrants Melbourne Outer East and Brisbane West with Barossa – Yorke – Mid North in SA and Warnambool and South West in Vic dropping out of the top 10.
